Community Roundup: July 4 – 17

Check out what's been going on in the Bitrise community lately!

Welcome back to another one of our Community Roundups, folks! Summer is halfway gone, but we hope you’re having a great time nonetheless. Let’s take a look at what’s been going on in the community!

Guides and articles

Our featured article this time comes from Oliver Binns, titled “Building (almost) anything on Bitrise using Docker”. While we mainly focus on mobile, it’s always great to see all the nice things people get up to with Bitrise other than that — thank you for the piece, Oliver!

While not strictly an article, we also wanted to mention a video tutorial created by Abdelrahman Mohamed, titled iOS Workflow Automation, Fastlane & Bitrise. Awesome work — thank you for sharing this with the community!

Tweets and mentions

Our first tweet comes from David Lin, who was pleasantly surprised at the last Roundup’s mentions that included him. Thank you again for writing that awesome article, David!

We always love to see people recommend the platform to others in passing conversations — so it was with Nicholas Eduardo, who gave us a shoutout in this thread. Thank you, Nicholas.

This next tweet comes from Thomas Carpentier, who got our one of our swag packages for speaking at a Bitrise User Group (BUG) meetup. Thank you again for participating, Thomas.

Next, we saw a nice quote from Shaun, a developer over at Coderus. We really appreciate this shoutout, and would love to hear more of what you think about the platform. Cheers!

This one comes from Károly Kass, who is not only an avid fan, but a regular at our BUGs, too. Thank you for the mention, and for the nice picture as well — hope to see you at the next BUG as well, on the 6th of August. 😉

Here’s another BUG swag pack for your consideration, this time, a courtesy of Alex Botkin, who just spoke again at the last one. You’ve been contributing so much, running out of things to send you, Alex! No worries, though — we have some surprise sneak peeks planned for our upcoming new swags at our next BUG. Stay tuned. 🚀

Next up is a tweet by moment_1102, who talked about how important it is to introduce the platform to personal projects as well. Thank you for being so enthusiastic about the platform — hope your projects are going well.

Next is another recommendation, this time from Eric Lewis to Thomas Ricouard, who was looking to make a new macOS only app. We really appreciate you spreading the word about Bitrise, Eric. Thank you.

It’s always great to see all the developers switching over to the platform — welcome, Yuri_mingo, and hope you have a wonderful time with Bitrise. Let us know what your first experiences were like with it.

This one comes from Masahiro Aoki, who came across an error message on the platform, and found out the solution a bit afterwards, sharing it with the community — so glad to hear it's resolved, and thank you for posting the solution, Masahiro.

Another set of thanks are in order to Narazoro, who pointed out how easy Bitrise makes things in this thread. Thank you for your support, and hope you have fun with the platform.

This one comes from Kotako, who tweeted out about successfully having reduced his current project’s build times. Great job — let us know if everything’s been going well since then.

Since we saw so many great answers, we thought we’d also include one of the popular trends on Twitter that has been making its rounds in the developer circles — what do you think would be a good bad answer to this question?

Necocen seems to have also joined the ranks of Bitrise users, having tweeted out about first building with Bitrise. Hope it all went well — let us know if there’s anything we can do.

Who needs hardware when you’ve got Bitrise? We loved this recommendation by Andy Woerner — thank you so much for the shoutout! Hope we’ll get to see Davide tweet about the platform too, in the future. 🚀

This next one comes from James O’Brien, whose Find Jira Issues integration is now available on Bitrise. Thank you so much for contributing, James — it’s things like these that make Bitrise the magical platform it is.

Here’s another recommendation, this time from S. Urabe — thank you so much for the shoutout, and for being so enthusiastic about the platform.

This tweet comes from Sànmi, who gave us a shoutout for having such a quick and painless setup process for build pipelines. Thank you for the kind words, and hope you have a good time with it in the future, as well.

We’ve seen some great news on the verified steps front, we do have to admit — after Genymotion, Applivery and Magic Pod have both joined the blue checkmark gang! Welcome, everyone, and hope we’ll be able to make developers’ lives even easier in the future together.

The Bitrise Jedi are a long-lost order of CI/CD peacekeepers, the relics of a bygone age… but maybe, just maybe, with the surfacing of two great warriors such as Jabur and Lucas, the order can be rebuilt from the ground up. Beware the dark side of CI/DC, gentlemen: it holds many suboptimal solutions for your mobile development needs. Oh, and may the force be with you.

Last but not least, here’s a cute picture of one of our two favorite mascots: Purr Request, the community’s favorite astronaut cat! We have a strong feeling that you might be able to see Purr Request in another form in the future… stay tuned for more info. 😼 Thank you for the tweet, Kazunya.

That’s it for this time, folks . If you have any great experiences or stories about using Bitrise, or would just love to share the progress you’re making on your current project with us, don't forget to do so on social media, or join our Writers' and Speakers' programs, and you might see yourself in our next set of highlights. Until then — happy building!
