Business Continuity at Bitrise during COVID-19

Let me start by reassuring you, we don't expect any service degradation or disruption of Bitrise functionality related to the spread of COVID-19.

Let me start by reassuring you, we don't expect any service degradation or disruption of Bitrise functionality related to the spread of COVID-19.

You will be able to:

  • Use Bitrise as always (configure, trigger, build, review, etc)
  • Reach sales and support through the same channels as before with the same response levels in place
  • Trust that the Bitrise platform and infrastructure are there to support your work, 24/7

Now that is out of the way, let's dive into some details.

We're remote now

Two weeks ago, after a relatively small amount of internal deliberation, we decided to allow everyone in any of the Bitrise offices to work from home if they chose to. We already had quite a few folks in self-quarantine due to recent travel from COVID-19 stricken locations and some of those left in the offices started to worry. Even though - at that point - we didn't necessarily see a pressing reason to enforce remote work for physical safety, it's at least as important that people feel safe.

We've always had a small remote workforce and rapidly put in place a support structure for a larger remote team. So far, the amazing documentation that our friends over at Buffer, Gitlab and a ton of other places have shared, have allowed us to face this new reality with a wealth of actionable insights and advice. We probably would've struggled without a number of (fully) remote companies being very transparent about their remote processes and learnings. Since that moment, the segment of Bitrise that chose to work from home steadily increased up to last Friday, where we jointly decided to go fully remote for the time being.

So far, fully remote Bitrise is functioning (almost) the same as before. For individual team members, it's not exactly 'business as usual', but the work that needs to be done to ensure you can rely on Bitrise for your mobile app development processes, is being done.

How we ensure Business Continuity

Bitrise has been engineered for resiliency and redundancy. In those instances where we're dependent on infrastructure partners, these have been selected and designed to operate without interruption. Additionally, every last piece of Bitrise can be - and is - managed effectively remotely.

We will continue to:

  • Resolve incidents
  • Perform maintenance
  • Release features and functionality
  • Do whatever we can to continuously improve your Bitrise experience

We're in close and continued contact with all of our suppliers about the situation, but expect no changes in their availability as a result of any COVID-19 related issues.

Still have concerns?

As the situation further develops, we will update you through our blog, email and social channels when necessary and you can always monitor incident status updates at https://status.bitrise.io/

If you have any remaining or specific concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out at letsconnect@bitrise.io - We'd be happy to put your mind at ease.

For now, stay safe and - where possible - keep building 🚀
